I would like to write to you and express my sincere thanks to you, your department and your officers. On December 4, I went on a ride-along with Officer Karen White. We spent six hours together and I found her to be courteous, professional and extremely competent in her work.
After witnessing Officer White handle traffic violations, an arson call and a domestic dispute, I have a newfound respect for the men and women who deal with these conflicts on a daily basis. She always reacted quickly and efficiently, and was polite and reasonable with everyone we encountered. This was true even during the call where a woman was screaming and crying upon our arrival. Officer White helped the woman calm down almost immediately and managed to extract the relevant information while still remaining considerate of the emotional situation.
I would like to commend your entire department for your excellent training and your kindness in allowing me to ride along with one of your officers.
